A few years ago I found an injured hooded crow that I rescued and kept in a specially built aviary. I called her Merlina and looking after her was a truly magical experience that I blogged about. Sadly, one morning when I went to check her I found a hole in the fence of the aviary. Merlina had gone, taken, I think by a fox.
