Have You Tried Healing?

I've been very interested in animal healing for some time now and have tried it out with my own pets. I first noticed that something was happening a few years ago when the Italian neighbour's very sick cat wandered into our garden. It really needed to see a vet (and healing is never a substitute, so all the books say) but I was in the middle of a diplomatic minefield as we had already suggested a visit to the vets for one of their dogs and they were very, very offended.

Anyway, I thought I would try holding my hands over the little cat and projecting good energy. I closed my eyes and started to move my hands over its little body, not touching but about two inches away. I was astonished when I felt definite cold spots and the cat stretched out and started to relax. I carried on with this for a few days and I'm pleased to say it recovered.

Since then I have practised when I can, always looking out for the cold spots and focussing on warming them up. I've heard and read that other people feel heat or some other sensation but for me it is cold. I am so into this now that I do it every morning on whichever animal happens to be around. I find it relaxing and they love it. they don't have to be sick, just holding your hands over their body seems to have a positive effect. I've even had a go with photos of sick animals – distance healing if you like. I'm still learning and it is a fascinating subject.

I have just finished reading a great book Hands On Healing for Pets by Margrit Coates and have fixed up an interview  with her on Friday, so I will post it up here when I have done it. It will be fascinating to talk to the Uk's leading animal healer. Let me know if you have any questions you'd like me to ask her and I'll pass them on.

  1. Great comment, Lu, and thank you Fiona for your distance healing of our kittens – it worked wonders… can’t wait to read the interview.

  2. dear Fiona,
i am really happy to read that you are going to interview Margrit Coates!
i am a “patient” of Margrit (well, the horses in my care are): she is always very supportive, helpful and effective.

i am very grateful for what she has done (and continues to do!) to help my horses (yes: even from abroad!), and for her unfailing insight and good advice. indeed she is a truly inspiring teacher, always full of compassion: a mentor to me.

Margrit’s experience is huge, her background serious and solid.
i feel the need to point this out because in Italy “healing” is a tricky and foggy issue. in U.K. this is a strictly monitored profession, that leaves nothing to new-ageish practices: on the contrary. and apart from being a very no-nonsense, matter-of-fact, knowledgeable person herself,
Margrit also works in team with renowned vets and therapists.
thank you for interviewing her, and please give her our (my horsefriends’ and mine) love and nuzzynoses.

    =^-^= Lu
